Doris Paxton has sold real estate in Palestine for 32 years, owning her own company since 1981.  She is in love with the Palestine area with its history, lakes, trees, and historic old homes and churches as well as classic and modern homes.  She and her husband have raised six daughters in Palestine and have many wonderful memories here.  No one is more familiar with Palestine real estate than Doris.   Some of our major employers are Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Criminal Justice Department of Texas (5 units), Palestine Regional Hospital (2 campuses), and an increasing oil industry.  We have a wonderful Civic Center and a newly formed Anderson County Concert Association as well as a Community Theater with very talented actors and actresses.  During the spring we have the Dogwood Trails and in the fall the October Fest.  A major attraction is the Texas State Railroad, complete with a steam engine and antique railroad cars to transport you through the woods and fields to Rusk, where another park is located.  Santa rides the rails during December and for mystery lovers we have "Murder on the Disoriented Express".   A jewel of interest is the Columbia Balloon Base, formerly NASA Balloon Base, renamed after the Columbia  Space Shuttle exploded over East Texas.  Nasa combed our area for weeks, looking for missing parts and pieces.  Palestine mourned for months.
